February 12 Kits of Christmas

This the second month post for the 12 Kits of Christmas.

Cathy Weber is the host for the month of February.

This is the adorable kit Cathy sent us, I have to say it's so fun to

get our kits in the mail. Cathy sent beautiful papers , Yuletide Collection by

Memory Box with this adorableWesley Bear also MB . Some of the sentiments

were from Waltzingmouse Stamps and Papertrey Ink

Snow Globe by My Time made Easy . Love this kit Cathy sent us, I could

not wait to have a chance to get to play with all the goodies.

All 12 of us get the same kit in the mail . (picture is from Kara) Then we all make something

using the very same kit. It's so fun to see all the different styles of

cards we come up with.

This is my first card. I added glass beads from Martha Stewart for the snow

On this card I use the embossed circle Cathy sent us, the

Memory Box die I had: Frostyville Border. I think this

bear is just too cute, Thanks Cathy!

I had time to make one more and I use the technique from
Maile Belles, using GlossyAccents on the tag from Cathy
I cut up a sentiment and applied the GA.

My daughter Nicole the one with 6 children was just told by the special ed and speech thearpist that her daughter, Delaney with Down Syndrome will be able to go to the same schools as her sisters and brothers in main stream kindergarten ! And we will take it from there and see how she does. When her speech thearpist told her she did very well one day, she said BooYa!

Hi and Happy Friday! I got my card in for the CoulurQ challenge. This was the closest to the colors of ink that I had. I am still building up my PTI ink supplies. Since I added glitter buttons again I thought I will go ahead and inter again in the MIM challenge. Funny how much I love these flowers, I bought other new stamps I just keep going to these, they just make me happy. Sorry ! I did not get the butterflies because I

Make It Monday Glitter Buttons

Ok ,I love this flower set I got in the mail, today more than any other flower set I have ever had! Even though I didn't have too many. I almost did not get this last min. I said... what the heck! So glad I did.
I did not even use all of the flowers that come with it! Tiffany Pastor made a home run on this set !It's going to be so versatile for me. I think the possibilities are endless.
I really wanted to do my button card over, I used a clear glitter this time much better I think!
I have a blog friend who took an early retirement and I am ashamed to say I have not given her a card yet! This will be it.
Im so excited about this stamp set and die. I feel like a kid in a candy store! It kinda reminds me of how happy I feel on ( Its a Small World at Disneyland) I feel this way about all the new things I got in the mail from PTI! No!I have not been drinking , just so darn happy!

Outside of yesterdays MIM this is the first time I have

combined two challenges. Not my thing, I think

I will maybe stick to one at a time. First I was using my

sm. heart die and on the second eye, I lost it (the die not my mind)

I could not find it anywhere I even said my St. Anthony prayer, it just

up and walked away. I'm sure it will show up . Oh well!

I saw the movie Descendants with George Clooney. Most of you know it took place in Hawaii.
With all the beautiful flowers in Hawaii I though this would go well for a current movie.
I had an another title for an older movie , that someone else already used ,

Good morning, yea it's the weekend! I cant believe football will
be over, I will miss it big time! I wanted to enter this color Challenge
so I used my Memory Box window die ,that Renee first sent me in
our 12 Kits of Christmas. Had to have my own! I also got the window box not sure if you can see it in this picture. Then I used my MB Catalina wreath cut it up so it would look like vines this is what its looks like. The hearts are from PTI the paper and ink are all PTI the stamp is fromHero Arts.

Hi I am so excited to tell you about this fun Christmas group Cathy and Joyce
asked me to be in. Renee and Suzanne wanted to get a jump on Christmas cards for next year. They thought it would be fun to make them all year and formed this group of 12. The 12 Kits of Christmas We will each host a month , and send out kits.
We will all make something using at least 4 items from the kit, and make at least one card.
This kit was so over the top , I made many cards and posted 4. This is such a talented
group of card makers , I am very humbled to be included. Please stop by their blogs and see what they have made. Renee has some blog candy for those who visit each blog and leave a comment. I posted all the names and links at the bottom of this post. I made my little wreaths using a little flower punch and glued them close together I learned how to make them from KittieKraft, I used different punches , she has a wonderful blog with amazing inspiration and ideas.

Hello ! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Its beautiful here in Southern Calif, now that the wind has stooped a bit! I made this flower with Bloom Builder Die #1 I used the smallest die of the three. I trimmed the petals last min. to round them next time I will do it before with the corner thing. My original idea came from KittieKraft oh my gosh if you like making flowers she is the place to learn. I used a different die . I know PTI girls showed us this too, kinda, or something like it. At Christmas time this would be a perfect poinsettia .The inside of the flower is Flower Fusion die and then just a tiny punch. Have a great weekend. Ribbon and die are the PTI new Kraft color. I cut the die apart then glued it randomly .

January 2012 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

This is the challenge from PTI

The challenge is to pick your favorite project from 2011 and share it with everyone. To take it a step further, you are challenged to create a second card that is inspired by the favorite project you select. Your new version of an old favorite could carry over the color scheme, the layout or the stamp sets.

I always liked this one and make many for teams.

Some cards are just better the first time!

Normally I only color in the sport the card is being used for.

This is ok but I would not say better. I didn't want to change it

up too much. All those who frequent my blog are

probably getting tired of this one:)

I decided I love making black and white cards. It's a clean look for me and I like a clean look!

So I will enter in this challenge again.

They are celebrating Penguin Awareness Day which lands on January 20th. As you can see I stamped my background with my favorite paisley stamp. made some sm. flowers with a 2$ punch and the rest is PTI. I have to say I love the matt with Layerz! Thank you for stopping in to see my cards.

Hi , I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had my three granddaughters spend the night on Saturday . We had a wonderful time as I enjoy my time with the girls and they are so much fun.

The little one who is 17 mo. old woke up at 2am and would not go back to sleep until my husband was able to get her back to sleep at 4:30am . That was after I tried for over 2 hours. Ugh!! Long night! The other girls 6 and 3 slept without waking up until the morning.

Ok I know this card is almost identical to THIS one I made last week , but it's a shaker card. I needed to make a few more of the same card. Thought this would be a good shaker card.

Way To Much Fun With Garden Variety , Tremendous Treats and Seed Packet Die

I had so much fun making these Valentine treat packets and card. I have had

Garden Variety Papertrey Ink Stamps for quite some time now. Didn't use enough because I didn't buy the flowers, that go so will it. I now love this set

I think it is a match made in heaven with Tremendous Treats Valentine! ( just my opinion)

I will put some heart suckers sticking out of the top . Everything is my favorite, PTI supplies.

Love those heart dies too. Cant wait for my heart boarder. Thanks for taking a look!

Hi! I thought I would give this colourQ another try. Its fun and I did ok last time. I don't use these colors too often, but hey, its paisley and you know how I love to use that stamp of mine. I stamped on a separate piece of paper then die cut six hearts PTI, I guess I sorta made my own chipboard. Everything is Papertrey Ink but the paisley stamp is from Stampabilities.

I gave up , just entered for a chance to have a RANDOM win.

This is my MIM card for Papertrey Ink. I tried several times but I think my velum was too thick. Also I did not really have the proper stamps and dies to do this. But I liked what Betsy did and wanted to try. I know its not done correctly , but I still wanted to post ,so it could be entered maybe for a random win :) And I used a lot of paper to try this one. Hope those of you with a long weekend are enjoying it. I love stamping my own background now that I have some new matching inks to go with all my PTI paper.
All paper is PTI ,Vintage Cream, Autumn Rose and Ripe Avocado. Ink is Autumn Rose. The background paper is stamped using Stampabilities Tapestry Pattern. Matt Stack 1 and Layerz
I found this little tiny flower stamp at Hobby Lobby ( New in our town) I punched the flower then pressed them in and squished them together and put some liquid pearl in the center of some.
I know this looks a bit grand- ma- ish, but its for my aunt and she is even older than me :) Thanks for stopping by !

Hey ,did you like that title? One of my grandsons is having his

Tonsils and Adenoides removed tomorroy. Jackson is only 5,

he is a little scared. I thought this might make him laugh, or

it could really scare him! He is an old sole and has a great sense

of humor, I think it will be ok. Hope so !

Tremendous Treats Baby Tag

Hi , hope your all doing well! This is a baby tag I made, very fast and simple . I enjoy making quick projets. I sent the card as soon as the baby was born . I only have a iphone photo of the card at the bottom.

Saw this in the Pottery Barn book.

Happy Monday! :) I was looking through the Pottery Barn catalog for kids, and saw this on the chair , thought I can make that into a card. Hope this will be ok for the MIM challenge.

I am loving the Tremendous TreatsValentine, Im going to get a lot of use out of this set. With eleven grandchildren :) I’ll be back!

Hi !When my grandsons see a VW bug, they say slug bug and then give a slug punch to one another.

This is a Anniversary card for one of my sisters and her husband. I will stamp Happy Anniversary on the inside of the card. I know this is an older stamp set and die but its new to me so I am going to use it a lot. As you can see I did not use my paisley stamp:) I bought a new background stamp.

I am finally building up my PTI inks and it's so fun for me to use matching paper and inks.

Everything is Papertrey Ink but the background stamp, its Stampabilities Tapestry Pattern.

Ok, now I have to stop procrastinating and take down the two Christmas trees, everything else is put away.

I love this background stamp I found at Hobby Lobby, Paisley by Stampabilities. I think using this stamp is the first time I ever really coordinated my ink with my paper, and I love doing that. Slow to get on the band wagon. Now Im very excited to buy all the new colors of ink from Papertrey Ink . I know I used it on some thank you notes last week , and will be using it a lot more, because I love Paisley!

A Parent’s Prayer

Help Me give my children the best... not of trappings or toys,
but of myself, cherishing them on good days and bad, theirs and mine.
Teach Me to accept them for who they are, not for what they do;
to listen to what they say, if only so they will listen to me; to encourage
their goals, not mine; and please, let me laugh with them and be silly.

Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Holiday! I made this card based on this beautiful, black and white card byDebbie Olson. I was not sure how she did her ribbon,but this is how I did mine and I love the way it turned out.

The challange is to use some type of leftover materials to create a project.

I received this card from one of my daughters and I thought it would be perfect to use on this birthday card I made for a friend of mine. I just took the flowers off the card and placed them on mine.

Meeting Friends In Person For The First Time

Hi ! I finally got to meet two of my blog friends. Joyce and Cathy! We all live kinda near by,

Joyce is a little farther so we met in a central place. It was so much fun to meet someone I only

know from being online. Joyce and Cathy had met before, so I was the new girl. I

have never done anything like this before. As my son would say" meet online strangers!!! "only because that is what I would have said to him. :) He was kidding though. Well, I have to say Joyce and Cathy are just as they seem online warm, kind, friendly, and fun to talk to. We shared about our families, stamping , I may have used

up more time on my 11 grandchildren. I loved hearing about Joyce's girls. I loved learning about Cathy's family as well . Cathy and I go to many of the same places to shop. Well I am not a very good

writer so I will just let you look at the pictures. Thanks again Joyce and Cathy for including me in your get- together. It was so nice to meet you both. Thanks again for the kind gifts.

The treat box was filled with delicious home made caramels! The caramels were so

good. I make candy too and know it is a lot of work.

Old Card Turned Into A Fast Birthday Card

First of all I cant wait to have my son home from college, three weeks . Love his girlfriend too , they have been dating over 4 years now, she will also be home .

Nicola just lives down the street a few miles from us. Her family spent Thanksgiving with us, They moved here about 7 years ago from South Africa. We love her and her family!

I just wanted to post this card I had lying around, I doctored it up a bit and gave it to my Dad for his December Birthday. Just never got around to making one for him. Sorry Dad!

I added the holly and the bit of glitter,

" Dad" to the card, the ribbon was tied into a bow, so I cut that. Its simple but I kinda like it.

I am working on my Christmas cards, goal is out by Friday.

The candy cane candle was from ( I thought Cathy W. post but I could not find it) Someone made a red and green candle and said how easy it was to make and it was. I made it a while ago as soon as I saw it. SO SORRY I CANT FIND WHO MADE IT, please let me know if you know who did. Then I can give the credit due. Thanks Cathy, for the Link !Sherry Wright Candle

The grandchildren had such a fun time all being together. They had fun dancing to some Wii game.

Well, I gave this MIM a try. My glue must be way too old, because the glitter kept coming off, I probably fussed with the bow way to much. I see its all a bit askew, shh maybe no one will notice! I used the dot stamp at the bottom of the page in glue to continue the snow on the white.

Oh how I will miss picking my hydrangeas! So this is the last of my most favorite flower.

But I will see them again next year. Hydrangeas make me happy, I love how they change,

with the season. These all use to be bright pink or purple. I almost tossed all these out today

when I was trimming the bush, last min. decided to put them in this container. So glad I did.

Am I the only one who did not know there is a different color ribbon for each kind of cancer?

I know pink is for breast cancer, but I kinda thought is was a symbol for women with cancer. My

sister who was a few years younger than me died from lung cancer that spread to her bones and

throughout her whole body. You think I would have known. My 22 yr. old son even knew .

So I found a link that gives you the color of each ribbon, for each cancer.

I just hope you don't even need it! I almost feel like I shouldn't tell anyone I did not know.

Ok finally got around to the MIM card. I did not have a brayer so I made one out of a wooden fondant roller and some peel and stick craft foam. Im either really cheep or smart, :) take your pick. I honestly did not want to run out and get one, last night. I think I would have had a much crisper image if I had though. This seemed to be the easiest way for me to make them . Have the kits all ready to go, so I could just send them in the mail. We have a new grandchild! He was in the NICU for about 5days but he went home today. ThankGod

We had some very scary days but all is well now and he will be going home to his other 5 siblings. I have to say my daughter Nichole is super mom. After being with her in her 30 some hrs. of labor I then went to my house to take over watching our other 5 grandchildren my husband had them by himself for day in a half. He is a great dad and papa. We are very blessed to have so many grandchildren even though they did come fast The oldest is only 9

Happy beginning of the week! I love this time of year so much! We had some of our grandchildren, 5 of them last Friday. We just had them for the night but we had so much fun. I get out all my stamps and let them create! I wish I would have taken pictures. My 6 granddaughter turned the die cut spider legs from Treats & Sweets into eyelashes for the skeleton it was such a girl thing to do.

My Yearly Halloween Scene

This is the Dept. 56 Halloween scene I put up every year. These pictures from last year, but I do almost the exact same each year. I will start putting it up today or tommorrow. It takes me about 5 hours because I also do a Halloween tree next to it. Then the tree turns into a fall tree ,after that a Christmas tree .This is all in the dinning room . Almost everything has moving parts that I have to carefully plan and hide all the cords. It lights up and the middle haunted house has lighting ,thunder , screaming and creaking sounds. We have almost 11 grandchildren oldest only 9 years old. They all love it and not one of them ever touches it. I have seen them stand on a chair and just watch it. It makes me so happy to see them enjoy it. The cloth I use over all the game boxes to make different elevations is cheese cloth that I tea died. I will admit I kinda like what I came up with , that is why I don't change it up

Truth be told my husband is the one who loves it the most and got me started with it. Yesterday I said I think I might skip putting it up. He loves it so much I have to say I do it for him, he does not ask for much . My husband loves me to decorate the house. I also do 3 Christmas trees, because it makes him happy. The last picture is what I put up for fall, when I take it down,

but I knew I already had something like it from years ago.

Hi , We had a great weekend and hope everyone else did too. We definitely enjoyed watching football from Thursday night all through Sunday, then of course Monday Night Football tonight. It helps take our mind off of this darn economy. And we just love football. Did anyone see the Budweiser commercial? It was a moving tribute to all the 911 victims .

Janelle likes to use the stamps she has before she will buy new ones. I think its a great idea. So with the new release coming up I thought I would do the same. The side triangles are just some printed paper I had and I used a bit of Martha Stewarts glitter. Other wise, its all Papertrey Ink.

Hi, Happy September.

I love the fall but now my girls will be so busy with their children in school , we wont get to see everyone as often as we like. We will just travel to Culver City and Temecula to see them, play in whatever sport they will be in. One daughter lives in our same town so that is nice.
For the MIM I used PTI Halloween Treats and Sweets
Seed Packet die and some ribbon I had.

This is for MIM, everything is Papertrey Ink. The challenge was to use colored pencils then blend with oil. I didn't have any baby oil so I used an old eye makeup remover and than blended just fine. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dies are Papertrey Ink , Tinny Envelope, Beautiful Blooms (then I cut a bit of the petals

rolled them with a pencil), Delightful Dahlia for the leaves, and the small Jar.
