Papertrey Ink Softie And A Thank You

Dawn made a beautiful card today for MIM

Hello! Boy did we heat up today 104 that is so crazy!
I seem to be spending all my time wanting to make softies and scissor keepers.

This little softie went to our granddaughter, Ava.  After making the Pirate
I kept this one simple and stuck to the design of Erin’s. I did add that big bow and some bling to make her more girlie. For a birthday I add the money in the back pocket.

This is my take on MIM. It must be your computer if you seem to see some of the dots not matching up :)
 Couldn’t be my stamping!

I just received this split sentiment die and I am not too sure if I  used it correctly.
Dose anyone know if I am to keep the die together or cut it apart.
Seems like my gap is way to large. I would love to know. Thanks!

  1. Oh, your softies have me wanting to love stuffed animals again. Too bad my girls are too old. Your thank you card is so very pretty. My computer must be very good because it has straightened out all of your little dots. I like the look of that split sentiment die, but I did not buy it, so I cannot answer your question.

  2. I still have that die on my wishlist, but hope to get it before too long. Love the look of your card, Marybeth--beautiful colors! Bet your granddaughter won't let the softie out of her sight!

  3. Darn the computer, messing up the polka dots, ha, ha.
Thank goodness we can blame the computer. :-)
No kidding, your card is gorgeous! Love the (teal ?) colorcombo with neutrals, very elegant and chic!! :-)

  4. What a pretty card Marybeth, and I think your dots are just fine! I didn't order the split dies, because I didn't think I needed them at the time, but I've seen so many pretty cards used with them (including yours!), that I think I need to add it to my list! I've seen some with the gap done smaller, but I think the beauty of the die is that you can make it any size so that it fits whatever you want to put between it. And your softie is absolutely adorable...I'm sure your granddaughter loved it! Have a great week and stay cool! :0)

  5. Ava must love her softie, she's the cutest felt doll ever! That bow in back is off the charts!
And the dots on the card seem to be moving this morning, like a wave on the ocean I would like to be near! Can't help with the die problem, looks great to me, love the spread of aqua (told you I need a beach break!)
We had you beat at 106! Swim days ahead!

  7. It must be everyone else's computer, Marybeth... they look fine to me =|
Is this Softie as small as two spools? And this time - DON'T mind the gap... but I'd think you might separate them so it can be adjusted to the font of the sentiment you use? Just me... using my power of reason... for some reason. I'll stop now.

  8. Marybeth, I bought the vertical Split Sentiment. I definitely kept the dies wired together. I have enough trouble holding onto things! I have lost my largest Tipped Top die!!! I think the split is rather large, too. Erin made a card where she added a strip of bitty dot vellum between the splits. It looks amazing and solves the problem. I know I will run out of the bitty dot so I got out a polka dot stamp and Fresh snow ink and stamped some of my own vellum!
Your card is pretty. I need to get out my Mum's the Word!

  9. Marybeth, cute cute Softie...you have such patience and are so clever with all things felt!! I love your split card, gorgeous flowers and colors, I don't have the die, so I can't hep you either....hmmm, I did notice that my BFF Lin has them all together too, she didn't snip them apart, but I don't know how it works! Shouldn't matter since the card is great as is!!

  10. Your Softie is just too adorable. And your card is perfection. You know I had the same problem with that die when I got it. What do you do with it. I think it can be used several ways, one the way you used it. I looked it up on the PTI for some hints how to use. Anyway beautiful job. I kept my die in tack.

  11. I cut my dies apart. The smaller one leaves you an edge of your background color and the larger covers an A2 sized card, so there's not edge other than the split between the dies.

  18. Hey, ANY kind of polka dot looks GREAT to me!! Pretty card Marybeth. Can't help with the dies, I don't have them. But I would think if you cut them apart you could make the open space any size. I'll bet all of your grandkids are LOVING their softies, they's adorable!!

  19. I don't blame you for being addicted to those softies, Marybeth! They are so sweet! I'll bet Ava loves hers to pieces!! Your card is fabulous for the challenge! I think the beauty of the gap dies is that you can adjust the opening to however wide you want it. But I don't have that one, so I'm just guessing. Your gap here is perfect and no worries about the polka dots being crooked on my monitor!! Hugs, Darnell

  32. You did such a fantastic job! For the little pink heart that is hanging down on her tummy, what die did you use? Also, where can I buy bling like what you used on the bandana? Did you glue it on? I'm so impressed!
