My Yearly Halloween Scene

This is the Dept. 56 Halloween scene I put up every year. These pictures from last year, but I do almost the exact same each year.  I will start putting it up today or tommorrow. It takes me about 5 hours because I also do a Halloween tree next to it. Then the tree turns into a fall tree ,after that a Christmas tree .This is all in the dinning room .  Almost everything has moving parts that I have to carefully plan and hide all the cords. It lights up and  the middle haunted house has lighting ,thunder , screaming and creaking sounds. We have almost 11 grandchildren oldest only 9 years old. They all love it and not one of them ever touches it. I have seen them stand on a chair and just watch it. It makes me so happy to see them enjoy it.  The cloth I use over all the game boxes to make different elevations is cheese cloth that I tea died. I will admit I kinda like what I came up with , that is why I don't change it up

Truth be told my husband is the one who loves it the most and got me started with it. Yesterday I said I think I might skip putting it up. He loves it so much I have to say I do it for him, he does not ask for much . My husband loves me to decorate the house. I also do 3 Christmas trees, because it makes him happy. The last picture is what I put up for fall, when I take it down,

Martha Stewart Glue. Thanks for the inspiration Kelly! In less than 10 mins to make. Took me much longer to link everything up , Im sure I go about it the long way . Not to savvy with linking , but I did.

 Hi ,  We had a great weekend and hope everyone else did too. We definitely enjoyed watching football from Thursday night all through Sunday, then of course Monday Night Football tonight. It helps take our mind off of this darn economy. And we just love football.  Did anyone see the Budweiser commercial? It was a moving tribute to all the 911 victims .

This is  my MIM card.

Tranquility Trilogy Stamp

A few days ago I was inspired to use my Tranquility Trilogy Stamp Set  by a blog friend Janelle

Janelle likes to use the stamps she has before she will buy new ones. I think its a great idea. So with the new release coming up I thought I would do the same. The side triangles are just some printed paper I had and I used a bit of Martha Stewarts glitter.  Other wise, its all Papertrey Ink.

Hi, Happy September. 

I love the fall but now my girls will be so busy with their children in school , we wont get to see everyone as often as we like. We will just travel to Culver City and Temecula to see them, play in whatever sport they will be in. One daughter lives in our same town so that is nice.
For the MIM I used PTI Halloween Treats and Sweets
Seed Packet die and some ribbon I had.

This is for MIM, everything is Papertrey Ink. The challenge was to use colored pencils then blend with oil. I didn't have any baby oil so I used an old eye makeup remover and than blended just fine. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi ! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

 This is a card I made for a friend.

She is visiting from Lake Tahoe.  

I used PTI Garden Variety stamp and Dies I just got them in the mail.

I know they have been used a lot so I tried to come up with something kinda new. 

To make the pot I just cute off the handle and spout off.

The daises are some ribbon I had and just cut apart. 

Used my Sees candy wrap again for the printed paper. 

This will be the last of the Sees paper.

This is a card I made for one of our granddaughters , she is turning one. 
I saw this card Happy Birthday, Sweet Thing! from Debbie Olson, that I loved.  Mine does not look anything like hers but I gave it a shot.

Make It Monday # 27 Custom Copic Striped Ribbon

Hi everyone hope your all doing well. I have been so  busy. One of my daughters lives near Sony studios  in California . They just finished filming a movie and then a few days later filmed a national Hunts commercial, in her home that her husband built.  My son in law is a great builder. So she and my three granddaughters stayed with me for a few days while they filmed. Wow she has her hands full. Ages 5,3 and 1. We had a good time. I love spending time with them, but I didn’t  get anything else done while they are here. That is ok though!

I made this card on Sunday Aug 8th and didn’t post till now. I made it from Sees candy wrap, that  was a birthday gift. I love how it looks but I did change up the ribbon so I could enter it in MIM for Papertrey Ink. I was also pleased to see that this pattern will be a new stamp on the 15th. My ribbon did not turn out great as it is the only grosgrain ribbon I have until my order comes in tomorrow. I wish I had white ribbon and a black copic marker. the one below is a ribbon I had first then colored it in with a green, didn’t turn out to

Papertrey Ink Make It Monday # 26 Decreasing Apertures.
 One of my favorite parts of the MIM challenge is using clear postal tape, sticky side facing outward, then pitting glitter on it. I love the way it turned out. I did have to piece it because I used a large die. I did stamp under the glitter but you cannot see it. I could only decrease once because of the die I chose. Again I did not put a sentiment on my card yet as Im not sure how I will use this card yet.

Yosemite Camping Thank You Card

Last week I went camping in a tent, the first time since church youth group as a teen. This was my husband and my first time to Yosemite National Park. We have been to Yellowstone many times, but for some reason  this was our first visit to Yosemite. Is only about 5 hrs. away . It was beautiful we camped next to the water so when it got warm in the middle of the day we would just take a cool dip.We lit a campfire in the evening and first thing in the morning.
 As I was looking at all the campsites I noticed how everyone had a line with clothes and towels on it. I thought oh I hope my order came in the mail by the time I get home, so I could make this card.

Happy almost weekend! 
 This is my card for MIM for PapertreyInk, using a technique of making an edge with a dry brush and some ink or paint.
I used : All papertrey Ink supplies
Stamp: Rhythm & Soul and Basic Gingham
Die : on the side of the card  I used Large Banners , it's the one on the top of the edges I layered them so you could not see the dots in the middle of each scallop . I kinda like it as I only have the small scallop edge. This kinda gives me the med scalloped edge.

This is my MIM card using the PTI Onesie Die. Everyone had such wonderful card for this weeks MIM I found it very difficult to come up with something different. The cards are amazing.

 So I just used the top of the of the onesie die. 

The printed paper is from our anniversary card so is the vellum on the pocket.

The flower is all PTI dies doctored up a bit

Med Beautiful Bloom 2,Love lives here circle die to cut out the middle then gather like Nichole did today on her blog, and Love Lives Here circle for the back. The leaves are just cut apart from Leaf die.

One Nation Under God

Hello, hope everyone is doing well. This is a card I have made many times, but now I am able to add the picket fence from Papertrey Ink. I love the way it added to the flag pole. I should have posted this, the week of the 4th. Oh well here it is. 
 I had three stamps made for me a few years ago, One Nation Under God, Made in America by Marybeth ,(for the back of my cards) and In God We Trust.
Most of the card stock is PTI 
The stamp is Imaginations , its very old and I do love it. I saw it on bay just the other day though.

Make it Monday #22 Multi-Color Stamping With Ink Refills

Hi everyone hope your all doing well.
 Well, for this challenge of MIM, I had to laugh I only have two refills.  So here it is.  I was a bit limited . 
 I used Little Bitty Bird stamp set
 Ink is Hibiscus Burst and Simply Chartreuse 
Card stock and envelope die is PTI. 
Inside the envelope is two soap leaves, from Coldwater Creek, I saw these in the clearance spot and thought they were so neat. My friend said you don’t need those . I said I know but I want them. I put them back. Then I though they would be perfect in the tiny envelope so I said what the heck and as you can see I bought them. The lady said you get a few washes with each one. I know my grandchildren will have fun with them.  They were 10$ but I pd. 3$ for each box. I think there is 12 to a box.
I will add  sentiment when I know what the card will be used for.

Make it Monday #21 Polaroid 2-Step Masking

Hello everyone.  I used two MIM techniques , the main one using this 2-Step Masking and the other is from one of the first few MIM Using Foam. Everything is from PTI, with the exception of the happy birthday stamp. I added the extra leaves on the frame but I was happier with the card before I added them.

Make it Monday #20 Reverse Masking

Hi , I wanted to post something for MIM on Papertrey Ink, so this card will have to be it. I wanted to make another one as I wasn’t crazy about this one. I just don’t  think I’m going to have time to make another one. 
As you can see I used PTI Edgers #3 again, PTI card stock and Anniversary sentiment stamp. The lemon is from Stamps by Judith.  I just got my shipment from the  June release , cant wait to use  the new stamps from PTI.

Make it Monday #19 Rock and Roll Technique

I like this technique , but I really didn’t have to many PTI stamps that I could use it with .  I did love the part about cutting the edge so it will stick out.

 I used PTI : Leaf Prints ,Anniversary Set.  Lemon stamp is from Stamps by Judith. Card stock it PTI, not sure who the printed paper is by.

Anniversary Card

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. My son is home from college so that has been nice. He will be leaving soon though to go on vacation to St. Maarten with his girlfriends family. So I will miss him all over again.

I made this card for my youngest daughter and her husband . They got married on Friday the 13th! I don’t know too many people who can say that. It was his football # in high school and college . It was the only date that worked with his football .  

I think happily ever after is ok for anniversary, or is it just for wedding? Brain block!

The owl punch is from stampin up so is the branch. Card stock , stamp and button are from PTI, pattered paper is from K and Co.

 Happy Friday! This is a quick thank you card for a friend who is always having us over for dinner. She is a teacher , comes home from work and for some reason wants to cook. We have them over too, but I don’t work outside the home.  I thought the PTI anniversary set went well the K&Co. printed paper.

Birthday Card

Just a quick post of this birthday card for one of my granddaughters who is turning two, today.

We watched three of our granddaughters on Sat and Sun as our daughter Natalie and her husband went out. 

I was at Disneyland all day yesterday with one daughter, Nancy and her family. 

TodayWe will go to Temecula to visit our daughter Nicole and her family for a birthday and grandsons hockey game. I feel very blessed  to be able to see all my daughters and grandchildren in a 4 day span . That does not usually happen. Our son will be home from college Friday. Life is good.

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.
Thank You to all the service men and women, and their families who serve in the USA military! 
I was asked to make some thank you cards for the little league baseball team .  The main stamp I used is so old, its Dots sports border. What I love about this stamp, is I just color the sport I want to use. Like when its football I only color the football and helmet, basketball just the ball.  I thought the Anniversary thank you softened the bold Alpha blocks.  I love these Alpha Blocks I think they help finish a card fast without adding  a lot more.  The main team color was red with some brown. Everything is PTI with the exception of the sports  border.

Whale Wishes

Good morning ! I snuck in a few minutes of paper time , BEFORE chores and errands today. I wanted to get a card off to one of my six sisters, who is a little under the weather. I mostly just wanted to use some of my new things from PTI.
I used Edgers  Die #3 as my waves, and then Whale Wishes mini stamp set and Die. I have so many ideas just not the time.

  This is my card for the MIM Challenge, to make a sympathy card. I tried to keep it simple. I cant believe I did not have a sympathy stamp. Now I do though because I just received my May order with the new anniversary set and it has a sympathy sentiment stamp.  I stamped the outside of the card with what I usually put on the inside of the sympathy card. Hi , I hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day. Well, for the MIM Selective Inking I used : Tea For Two Additions, but I only used the edge of the lined up teacups. That would be my selective Inking. Then I embossed with powder.
Also used Woman Of Life Stamps and just put the three together.
