Make It Monday #183: Dry Embossing Over Heat Embossing
This weeks fun MIM is by Dawn McVey
Hi, I made my card early Monday morning and thought I might be the first to post. Before I finished my post my daughter asked if I wanted to go to Disneyland with her and the kids. I went and now I can’t move ... I think all we did was walk , walk and walk some more. I feel so old, but my daughter said she is super sore as well ... and she is in great shape. I told her I was glad she was sore too :) That way it’s not just my age. Hope to make a few more.
Just to let you know it never quite got as hot as weather man reported, but it was hot about 100.
Take care!
This is such a fun Thanksgiving card. I love the look of the double embossing. Sorry you are sore, but what a great reason--going to Disney with your family. It's even really hot here today.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Wish I could have some of your heat. 39 on my drive to work yesterday morning!! Yuck!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card. Your turkey is super cute. Sorry that you are sore but how fun to be able to go to Disney.
ReplyDeleteMarybeth this is so cute! Love that you always try the MIM techniques. I am with Kara could use a little more heat!
ReplyDeleteCUTE gobbler Marybeth and a terrific Thanksgiving card! Sure wish I could have gone with you today, I LOVE to walk!!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Love the simplicity of this card!
ReplyDeleteSuper duper CUTENESS here, Marybeth! LOVE the sequin detail bunches!
ReplyDeleteFun card, I love the color combination!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you all feeling tired after Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, your card is such a great take on the MIM challenge.
This turkey is soooo funny.
Bye,
Marjolein,
ps. you're not OLD!! You're well preserved, at least that's what we say over here in the Netherlands, ha, ha.
Sounds like a wonderful day, even if you are a little sore! Fantastic take on the challenge. Your card is SO adorable!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww...what a cute and CAS card! Love it! :0)
ReplyDeleteOh that life that gets in the way of card making! (And photo shoots, and posting...:) Hope DL was worth the sore spots (know it was!) We escaped to the beach, but it was hot there too!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I'm here to comment on gobble gobble. Cute and more cute! Love the subtle color change on the feathers! Hope it's finally cooler!
This is a fun card, Marybeth. Love the you used the chicken wire impression plate; it just seems fitting with the turkey.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the reason you were sore was due to the 100-degree temps being thrown into the mix of walking and Disney. That would be enough to cause anyone to droop. Oh, you could toss about 10-15 degrees my way and I wouldn't turn them down. I'm not ready for our cooler temps yet because that means winter follows. Brrrr.
Oh, what a fun fun card! Think of the memories you are making with every step you take!! I know you wouldn't have said NO for anything!!
ReplyDeleteI love this turkey with his fancy feathers! And that chicken wire embossing is perfect! I'll be the kids will remember this day, and that you were with them, forever!
ReplyDeleteLove this technique from Dawn... your card is darling! I've still never been to Disneyland/world! Sounds like one is never too old to enjoy it, Marybeth. I quote my mom: "growing old is not for pansies."
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny...you are the "youngest" grandma I know and I know exactly what you mean about being sore after walking all around Disneyland! Love your sweet turkey...was wishing I had that sentiment myself!
ReplyDeleteJust say NO to the 'old age' excuse for feeling sore, Marybeth! Even the young uns feel it after a day at Disney~it's all part of the experience. THAT's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove the funny turkey card, great embossing choices for this week's MIM.
Cute card with the fun turkey! Glad you had fun at Disneyland! And, I know what you mean when there's a lot of walking involved.:-)
ReplyDeleteHow darling Marybeth! That turkey is so cute and this looks like a fun technique! So glad you had fun at Disney!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just too darn cute! I have always loved this little turkey and what you do with him. So so fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute card, MaryBeth. I love the colors - and also the embossing, of course.
