Make It Monday #156: 3D Stamp Paint Techniques
by :Melissa Phillips
Hello. We enjoyed a very warm weekend in sunny California, honestly we missed winter this year. I know many of you are dealing with snow . I hope you warm up fast.
I have not been in my craft room much . It has been a sad few weeks. Only two weeks ago my husbands older sister (58) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver and more. No symptoms until she had shortness of breath and a coworker talked her into seeing the nurse. One thing let to another. Olga was going to try chemo , but last Sunday had a stroke and a heart attack. They sent her home with hospice and we have all been saying our good-bys. It's so sad because she has a hard time getting her words out because of the stroke. She has so much she wants to say. We laugh and cry. We try to laugh most.
I knew nothing about this cancer and how fast it is without symptoms until its too late.
The gold paint or rub I used a long time ago you can see HERE
For this card I used Papertrey Ink - Text Block: Friends Die Papertrey Ink - Chicken Wire Impression Plate.
I was going to lay the cutout on top but it was too busy so I decided to inlay it.
I hope you have a wonderful blessed day!
Ribbon is from Hobby Lobby

I am so sorry to hear about your sister in law, Marybeth. It is really sad and very difficult, I am sure, for her and the family to have all this suffering~I know there is no 'good' age, but 58 is just too young.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers go out to your loved ones.
PS: Your card is beautiful...I hope you find some peace and calmness creating beauty like this, my friend.
Such a sad news you're sharing here! Well my father was diagnosed the same illness. Fortunately he was given almost 2 'extra ' years before we had to say goodbye. It gave us time to say the things we wanted to share one more time and enjoy every moment to the full.
ReplyDeleteI always have a hard time when people you love have to suffer.
Wishing you all the best and I'm sending you a 'long-distance-hug' to comfort you a little in these difficult and sad times.
Your card ( I almost forgot) is FAB as always, love the background with the gold paint and chicken wire.
Lovely bow too, such a great detail and the fabric is not to 'sweet', matches the gold so perfectly.
Bye,
Marjolein
