Lunch with friends and First Birthday

Lunch with Joyce Cards by the Sea and Cathy Empty Nest Crafter
We had a wonderful time and could have talked forever.  Even though this is about the 3 time we have met in this location …I was almost 30. min. late , I felt so bad. When I had to pay a third toll on the toll roads, I knew something was wrong. The lady told me I passed  the exit it way back.  I was so lost and had to rely turn by turn on my cars directions.

I was going to add  # 1 but used the first birthday stamp instead.

This Birthday card was for our youngest GD.
After my visit with Joyce and Cathy I went to the nearby Paper Source. I bought this dot stamp and this gorgeous Washi tape , I fell in love with the colors and the gold. Kinda pricey for tape but now I wish I bought two. I also bought some new satin
embossing powder that I also love.
The paper is from Authentique :Wishes, I love everything about this pack of paper.

I spent the day at Disneyland yesterday with our youngest granddaughter. We had so much fun, and today is my sons birthday. Trying to get caught up on blogs.

The stamps and dies are all from Papertrey Ink:Wishes Come True Stamp Set I was so happy to see the "first birthday " in this set. The other dies are also from PTI Papertrey Ink - Birthday Trio Die  and Papertrey Ink - Framed Out #12 Die

Thanks for stopping in.

  2. A very special moment to meet up with crafty friends like that!
And I can sooo relate to not finding your way while driving a car, sigh, even with navigation I'm no good in a car. That's why I like to travel by train to big towns or ask my husband or a friend to please take me there.
As for your card, it's gorgeous!!
love the bright and happy colors!
Your new stamp and washitape are a definite 'must have' for any crafter. LOL.
Love the gold embossing very much too.
    Bye,

  16. Marybeth, I could almost taste that frosting on those cupcakes! And oh, how I love the wash tape and paper you used! LOVE this shaker!
Those darn freeways are so confusing. ALWAYS get lost, if I'm not with my husband, who I think has a built in GPS!
So glad you all had a great time, nothing better than good friends sharing lunch!

  17. How fun to get together with someone else who "gets" this papercrafting thing :) I'm sure you all had a ball. I love, love, love this card and just might have to case it for my granddaughter's first birthday in a couple weeks. Are the cupcakes patterned paper? They are so realistic! And I have to visit my nearby Papersource too - that washi tape is awesome (not that I don't already have enough washi tape to float a boat!) LOL

  18. You've had lots of fun days lately! Sounds wonderful. :) I'm so sorry about the getting lost situation....I'm terrible with directions and that happens to me all the time. It's so frustrating. And honestly I can't imagine driving anywhere in CA. I drove to Rancho Cucamonga (ironic, huh?) once in college and I was a nervous wreck the whole time. Love the new goodies you used on this fabulous card.

  22. I've met a few crafty friends in real life and it's so so so fun. Not many people in my real life here connect with me on this whole crafty card thing so it's nice to meet up with the crafty online blogging gals.

Um. I don't know how to make one of these cards - so I'll just swoon over yours. My gosh it's gorgeous! Love all the gold. It's delish!

    Happy New Year, Miss Marybeth!
