This is Tracey McNeely first post as a new DT member, adorable, right!
I used some of Tracey’s colors, and a few of her shapes..ie the water splash and black and white. I also kept this one CAS.
I had some fun using my Paper Smooches stamps set.
While I was photographing this card in my living room , I kept hearing a bird chirp (for what sounded to me like a cry for help). I looked on the porch..nothing, then the patio off the living room ...nothing. Then I saw this sweet little guy looking at me from the fireplace. I opened the double front doors and the double french doors and then opened the fireplace glass door. He flew a bit then walked around, I have two large real trees in my living room and he flew in them for a bit. It took about 15 minutes then he safely flew out to the back yard. I videoed all of it for the grandkids, I heard myself talking to this bird as if it were a dog, telling it where to go and what to do. In the end he did listen to me :)
Thank you so much for the visit!
Six years ago today I was with my younger sister Maryellen when she passed away, boy time goes by so fast. God bless!

Adorable card and a great rescue! I had a similar situation in my house a few weeks ago and thankfully we were able to rescue her after some struggle :)

ReplyDeleteAdorable card Marybeth...I love your sweet scene with that whale, just too darn cute! And congrats on saving the bird too, you are so amazing. We have had a couple of birds end up in our fireplace too, not always fun getting them out! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteLove the whale card Marybeth, I may need to put that on my wish list. The bird story is charming and the grandkids will love it. I know your loss as my sister passed away 21 years ago at age 52 and I think of her often. Have a lovely weekend. Barb
ReplyDeleteOH Marybeth that is such a cute card! I love everything about it!! So sweet about the little bird. We get them in our wood stove from time to time and I have to get them out and let them go outside. ((Big hugs about your sister)))

ReplyDeleteJust as always so beautifully created!
{ and yes, time goes by so very fast! }
This is a wonderful card. Love the colors and that sweet fish. How nice for you and lucky for the bird that you were able to rescue it. Do you think maybe it was sent by your sister? Sometimes those things happen and no one can explain it. Sending you hugs for the memory of your sister.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! I'm sure your grandchildren will love to watch that video!
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to learn about your sister, Marybeth. It was very moving having the little bird visit you today and I'm so glad she listened to your directions and got safely back outside! Your take on Tracey's card for MUSE is so awesome! I love the whale and birdie floating along in peaceful harmony!! Big hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card, Marybeth ... that cute whale looks as though he's having so much fun splashing in the waves! How lovely to have a visit from a sweet bird on the same day you especially remember your sister ... God's mysterious ways are so special ... prayers for you and for her heading your way. Anita :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card Marybeth . . . I love the happy look on that cute whale's face! I take it the bird came down the chimney? You should post the video ;) Have a lovely day! Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteI love your CASE of Tracy's card, Marybeth! The dolphin looks so happy and I love the little splashes! I love the birds, but not in the house! I'm glad he found his way outside safely! The grandkids will love watching that video.
ReplyDeleteI think Maryellen paid you a little visit in her very own sweet way today, Marybeth... darling thought, yes? Thank you for caring about that little bird. I just love your whale - what a cute take on Tracey's sweet card...
ReplyDelete=] Michele - big squeezes enclosed.
Oh, this is so fun!
ReplyDeleteMarybeth, I think that it was more than a coincidence that that little bird popped in for a visit today... Quite lovely too that you had the opportunity to capture it on video. Thinking of you today, Marybeth... As for your sweet card - love that glossy dolphin! Cute and poignant that you have a little seagull bobbing along next to it! Hugs for you from me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling card. Full of sweetness! Love your bird story and picture. My cat brought me a bird the other day, not quite in the same condition as yours! How do you scold a cat for showing his love??? Extra hugs today for your loss. Sisters are a special gift. And I know there are many cherished memories.
ReplyDeleteHello Mary.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a strange mix of emotions for you today...
Love your bird story. Maybe birdie was too hot and wanted to cool down for a while indoors :)
You have such an amazing array of card styles. Glad i finally got sorted so I can see new posts as they arrive :)
Take care...
Such a cute card using Tracey's card. What a fun story about you saving and talking to the bird. Prayers to you in memory of your sister.

CUTE! Love the shine on the whale and the happy look on his face! So glad you joined us at Muse this week, Marybeth!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on Tracey's card! Love how you've echoed her elements with your own twist. Sweet, sweet card. And you're the hero of the day for your great birdie rescue! I'll bet he/she was delighted not to be trapped anymore, and to be able to fly free outside once more! Well done you! Bev
ReplyDeleteThank you again, Marybeth, for the nice comments on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI too, have some great memories with my Mother. I was the one who took my Mom to the many appointments that she had at the cancer center. And, it goes without saying, there were difficult times watching a lot of what she went through. But I also remember
some of the laughs, and our many shared conversations, Like you, those memories are what keep me going. I'm so grateful that I did get to spend those times with her...
That little bird picked the right house to visit, didn't it! Not everyone is so kind and willing to help it get back to outside. When you wrote about your sister, it does make one wonder. I'm glad you were able to video it's visit--the grandkids will love it. Love your sweet card! The whale image is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteVery cute card - love the colours xxx
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh how cute!! You did a great job CASEing Tracey's card, I love this Marybeth. The grandkids are going to love watching the little bird!!
