Is A Thistle A Flower?

Hello! The challenge is still flowers.  All you need to do is use
a stamp or die from Serendipity Stamps and a flower! Easy!

These are the two cards I made forgetting we needed to use flowers.
Thought I would share them anyway. I said easy but I still forgot.

Hope you week is off to a great start! The design team was asked to do an embossed resist technique, using a flower. I stamped my Thistle using versa mark ink then heat embossed with gold,  I used a dabber and dipped it in the ink and ran it over the white card stock and image.  Almost looks as though this was a solid color but it was white. I then decided to add the embossed "Blessings” I also masked off the butterfly from the stamp.

The sale this week is buy 3 and the 4th is free. You will want to take a peek at the Serendipity Stamps store, lots of new dies and stamps.
I hope you can find some time to play along, you could win 20$ off your order. Don't forget to see what the rest of the DT created.

Small Solid Image

The thistle has been the national emblem of Scotland since the reign of Alexander III (1249–1286) and was used on silver coins issued by James III in 1470. It is the symbol of the Order of the Thistle, a high chivalric order of Scotland. It is found in many Scottish symbols and as the name of several Scottish football clubs. The thistle, crowned with the Scottish crown, was the symbol of seven of the eight former Scottish Police Services (from which a new national Police Service was formed in 2013), the sole exception being the former Northern Constabulary. The thistle is also the emblem ofEncyclopædia Britannica, which originated in Edinburgh, Scotland.

You Are Going To Love The New Dies

Welcome to the new Word and Frame Die Blog Hop!
I love these new dies and the way they cut out so nicely.
Also love the smaller size of word dies perfect for a card!

If there was a“Faith" die I would have used it.
I think the “Peace" went well enough .
( think we are working on a faith die

I glued three layers of the word dies to make it nice and thick.
I heat embossed the flowers, booties and sentiment below.
I masked off a word on the WMS sentiment…you like it..

You should have arrived from Karen Amidon’s blog, next on the hop is Miriam Napier  or you can go to Mary's Blog for the complete list and information. Be sure to comment on each design team blogs as it will increase you chances to win the 20$ credit to the store. You have until Sunday, May 18 midnight to leave a comment .
the winner will be posted on Mary's Blog Monday, May 19

Thank you and enjoy the hop!

Cluster Stamping

by Heather

Oh... how I wanted to add some clear sequins to the blue card ,
but then it couldn't be a boy card maybe it's not anyway, not sure.

Hi, hope your day is going well.  I couldn't wait to make a card for MIM, just looked like fun.
For two of the splotches I used a very old set that kinda had what looked like paint splotches Botanica Silhouettes and then Watercolor wonder, sentiment is Think Big Favorites #14 all from Papertrey Ink.

I think Heather said she used clear embossing powder but only the white seemed to work for me.

Let not, your heart be troubled.

Hello, glad you stopped by.

This beautiful sketch design is by Lesley

I came home from a very busy day away and saw an email  from the very talented Lesley Croghan. Lesley asked if I wanted to be apart of the Seize The Sketch design team. I said yes and I am so excited!!!
I am honored to be apart of another group of such talented designers.

As you can see I followed the sketch lightly, my sprig is my oval. I don’t usually make many cards from  a sketch….. I am going to now:) Hope you will join us and play along.

Starting The Week With A Christmas Card

I had to share the beautiful flowers one of our daughters
had delivered on Mother's Day,
such a surprise and they are gorgeous!

It says stars right! Well, there is another star on the front you just cant see it,
there is also one on the inside of this card.

Good morning! Hoping everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Mine was wonderful!
I found some time this morning to make a card for Merry Monday, the theme is stars .
I stamped the Nativity from Serendipity Stamps in Stampin Up Red. I used two layers of foam for this shaker card. (I cant seem to get them from sticking to the sides of the foam tape)

Happy Mother’s Day

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I hope you all have a beautifully blessed day!

I was blessed to be able to spend the day with my mom and dad yesterday. We went to Mass and then out to dinner and it was a wonderful visit. I am one of nine children. Thanks mom and dad for my gift of faith. Love you!

I found some time to get in my craft room and make this quick envelope wrap. I used Stitches & Swirls Stamp Set andPapertrey Ink - Wine Bottle Tag Die. I heat embossed with three colors. I used Versa Mark then just lightly added random powder then heat embossed all  the same time.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lost of shimmer!

All you have to do is use a flower or flower die on your card.
How easy is that!

I added a few different pictures so you can see different details in each photo. The one above shows the thin gold tape.
Below shows the dry embossed background.

In person the silver trim is much more shimmery and not so dark .

Hello and welcome!
For this challenge the design team was  asked to use one of the Floral Alphabets ( on sale now 20% off)  I chose the N because my three girls name start with N: Nicole, Natalie, Nancy and my future daughter in law is Nicola! I also have quite a few friends that start with N as well.

I was very blessed about a year ago when Mary ( the owner) gave me the whole Alphabet set. I think it is one of the most beautiful alphabet sets I have ever seen.

Hope you will play along, you could win 20$ off your order .

Looks like I am a little early for ColourQ

Good morning! I was up early, so :
When I saw Joyce’s card early this morning, I knew that I would use my favorite and only pail from Stamps by Judith. Then I saw Lisa’s and I knew I wanted to use the beautiful colors from
Colour Q.  Not sure if you can tell but the handle is green.
The flowers are also from Stamps by Judith, I masked them off. The paper is Soft Stone from Papertrey In and tag is from Lil Inker Design. Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Clean and a bit layered

Seize the Birthday anything goes!

Hi, hope everyone had a nice weekend. We enjoyed ours.
Went out to dinner with friends, played games at their house on Friday, watched some of the grandchildren Saturday, then went to Mass in the evening. I gave our dog Major a good brushing and bath Sunday. He sure looks good !

I have seen so many gorgeous cards for the card concept, I still would love to do a card with flowers we will see.

God Bless!

Two Cards After The Fire

Two cards today and one for MIM

I loved this Botanical Blocks Stamp Set and I have to say I love the way this card turned out. I don't say that too often.
The  Thinking of You is from Stamps by Judith . Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

My top card uses this sketch turned on its side.
I also forgot to add that I used the Papertrey Ink
Ice cream cone  die for my pie scrap.

My first Card for MIM I got wrong.
I think I have this one  done correctly!

I used Propose a Toast Stamp and die from Papertrey Ink,Soft Stone cardstock and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Helo my sweet friends, so many of you asked me how I was because of the fire. The Rancho Cucamonga Etiwanda fire was  my neighborhood . We are all fine after a very emotional and crazy day yesterday. Thank you!

This what we saw from our front door.
Everyone is fine, but it was scary.
