My prayers are with all of you on the East Coast
Hi I am back again. I could not wait to make this card. When I bougtht this stamp set from
Serendipity Stamps: Three Dresses I knew I would pretty much be paper piecing it. When I saw Dynamic Duos colors for this week I knew I would be using this stamp again.
( Didn't post the first one yet).
This stamp has many special meanings for me . It will be a great card for me to send to one of
my many sisters. I am one of seven girls. But mostly it brings me right back to when I had my
three girls , all less than 18mo apart. I used to sew many of their little dresses.
I also liked to use a cloths line even though I had a dryer. Oh how quickly that time went by.
I was in such a rush for them to grow up and not be babies…..
boy…... do we learn the hard way, life goes by so quickly. Now my little girls have children of their own. I am so blessed that we are all very close in heart and miles. Ok , like I said this stamp is taking me way down memory lane. It was so simple and easy to make. Stamp, then stamp on printed paper , hand cut , use some foam tape and done.
We had 3 of our granddaughters over for the weeked…. so much fun!
Take Care and please stay safe!
I used Vintage Cream and Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink, the other yellow is from Stampin Up
Not sure of the color, look like So Saffron.
Stamp:Serendipity Stamps: Three Dresses
Marybeth this card is so beautiful. I love your story about your girls and I can just picture them all in these little dresses, even though I have never met them your description, portrays them as little angels. I will have to check those stamps out what a great design and lots of detail.

What a sweet post, and what a sweet card. I love the story and the three dresses. Now, I want to check out this stamp. You should be designing for Serendipity.
ReplyDeleteAwesome card Marybeth. I think everyone goes through those times in a way of some kind or another. We were blessed with one child, a bit later in our life. Although I tried to cherish every moment you still want the time to pass. Our girl is only 9 now but how I want to go back in time already and before I know it she will be in college!! Very sweet card!
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous! I can't imagine having three girls let alone having them so close together in age. I sewed quite a few of my daughter's dresses because she is ...short and it was easier to sew them than to hem or alter them. She is 20 and still prefers dresses over jeans.
ReplyDeleteMarybeth your card is just gorgeous, as is your nostalgia that accompanies it. The prints remind me of the patterns on the Holly Hobby dolls of a couple decades ago - dont know if they were in USA too. Anyway have a lovely week (of sunshine no doubt!) and hope all well for those on East Coast. Nicola x
ReplyDeleteWow, stunning card and the yellows are perfect for the sweet dresses. I love the clean look and the sentiment is perfect. Thanks for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos!

I always love looking at your cards Marybeth...and I love reading about your wonderful family too. This is a gorgeous card, love the paper piecing you did on it. I don't know how you ever had time to sew when you had three girls all 18 months apart! So glad you have all of your kids close by...that would be heaven for any mom!
ReplyDeleteYour clothes line is absolutely wonderful! Love those pretty little dresses!
ReplyDeleteThis card with all of its soft details is so evocative of days gone by when people used to chat over their clotheslines. Both your card and your story are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Marybeth, I love your paper pieced dresses to me the design on the paper makes the dresses look old and worn, good choice! I wish I would have known then what I know now, time sure does go by fast.
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories of my 3 girls too. Like you I couldn't wait for them to grow up, then wished they were little again. They are as precious now as they were when they were little! I love, love, love these paper pieced dresses! How perfect for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteMarybeth, I had no idea you had so many sisters!! I love how you explained what this card means to you 😊 those 3 little dresses are so sweet.

Marybeth your card and post made my heart smile. I am one of 7, 5 girls and two boys in our family. This stamp set is so lovely and your card is stunning! I adore it and your sweet words about your family. My sisters and I shared many dresses (and still do) and now we are sharing them with our nieces too...time does go by so very fast and it is so precious!

ReplyDeleteI just love these sweet lil dresses!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable card...so nicely done. Brought back memories for me too. Back when I used to sew for my daughter all the time. (now my poor sewing machine is just gathering dust) I still use my clothes line too (but not in the winter)
ReplyDeleteMarybeth, this card is so sweet, and so is your story! Your card is unique, and really beautiful. Three girls! You lucky mom! I have two. And you were one of 7? Extra-lucky you! :-)
ReplyDeleteAww what a sweet story, thinking of you hanging up those little dresses just like on your card. Where does the time go, indeed?!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Marybeth! Reminds me of the dresses my Mom made for me growing up! Funny how we wish things to move quickly only to realize that we should just enjoy where we are now in time! It took me 43 years to figure it out and now I try not wish my life away so fast! :)
