I didn't have any Year of Flowers stamps. About a year ago
some stamped images. I cant find the others she sent me
( I bet I find them later) so I had to take this
card from the( Mini Blog Hop )apart!
I was able to rub off all the score tape and even get
the taped on embellishments off. Then I carefully took
it apart and hand cut it out.
I have to say I like the first one and this one . Maybe I
like the CAS one a bit better. Thank you Joyce !
Because of you I had a chance to play.
Rustic White Cardstock
Year of Flowers Collection Stamp Set
A friend asked me how I get my impression plate to work so well.
A long time ago I remember Cathy Weber saying if you spray it with rubbing alcohol ( it dries fast)that you will get a good impression. I have been doing that ever since.
I filled up a small spray pump
bottle from bath and body works. I use it every time,
and on all colors of card stock.

Such a beautiful card, Marybeth! I love that you were able to disassemble and create this card :)
ReplyDeleteI don't own any of the YOF stamps, but they are on my wish list and now that they have the matching dies, I will definitely want to purchase each one.
Lovely card. Love how you framed it in a window. - Irma
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty Marybeth. I love the frame you put around the flowers and the time you spent reassembling it was so worthwhile. Isn't Joyce a kind person?
ReplyDeleteMarybeth, I will need your tips and tricks on how you get the linen IP to show up so well! This is beautiful - I love the addition of the bling!
ReplyDeleteso pretty. love the flowers peeking out through the window!
ReplyDeletePerfect CAS card Marybeth and the colour is perfect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Marybeth! Love the color of the flowers and the way they peek thru the window!
ReplyDeleteSweet card, glad you took the trouble to make and share this!
ReplyDeleteQuick thinking Marybeth! Your finished product is classic elegance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to recycle. I remember that mini blog hop--it seems ages ago. So glad that you had something to play with. I love how you put those flowers in the window like that. And, I agree--your IP looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteBEEEEutiful Marybeth! Love that you reworked a former piece. I do that now and again, it's fun to see how you can change it up!
ReplyDeleteHi Marybeth! I just awarded you with a Liebster award, pop on over to my blog and check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Marybeth! I love being able to take something leftover and turn it into another wonderful creation. I love you tip about the impression plates, I can never seen to get a good enough impression to use, thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteGreat card--dark blue is always a favorite. And thanks for the tip about using the alchohol on impression plates.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely, you did a beautiful job. ;-) I don't have any of the YOF stamps either, but I might be persuaded with coordinating dies being made available! Thanks for the tip about the IP. Do you spray the cardstock with the alcohol? Or the IP? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove the rich colors on your flowers! They look so pretty inside the cut out frame. And your impression came out great. I don't have that IP but I don't think I've seen that much pattern on anyone else's card before.
ReplyDeleteThis is a classic CAS design. Marybeth, and I love the deep blue of those pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to cheat and leave only one comment on this post, Marybeth, even though I've spent several minutes, several highly enjoyable minutes browsing through the last few posts I've missed 'cause I haven't gotten by to see you. Your work, as ever, is flawless and fabulous!! If I had a hop, I'd ask you, too, so I'm glad you got to play with Joyce and the girls. (They're lucky to have had you along!)
ReplyDeleteBut I really had to stop on this one to thank you especially for sharing the rubbing alcohol tip! Mwah!
Hahaha, the first thing I noticed about your gorgeous card is how crisp you got the linen impression on your panel. That's such a tough impression to get to show up!!! Then at the end of your post I saw your secret. Rubbing alcohol! Who knew?!? Thanks so much for sharing that tip with us! I guess that makes sense, right, that the paper is more impressionable after it's dampened.
ReplyDeleteMake sure I get this right Marybeth - do I spray the paper or lightly coat the impression plate. It looks fab - I've been coveting that one for a while now - the linen - need to get that soon! At least you'll teach me how to make the most of it.
